Early 1930's Stayer. Unknown Make In Original Condition.
With the exception of pedals, rear tire, and bar tape this bike is in completely original condition. The front tire is original and wrapped in plastic to prevent the tire tread from flaking off. It was ridden by a prominent N.Y. City bike rider mostly at local tracks like Coney Island. The bike is almost 100% made up of BSA components and we believe the lugs to be BSA also. I believe the bike was made locally in the New York City area for several reasons. An almost identical stayer was donated to the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame by "Pop" Brennan's son. It was, apparently, in the Brennan shop but was NOT made by Brennan. This bike has the same lugs, same paint, same gold lug lining. Another bike, or frame minus fork, turned up at the Larz vintage bike show several years ago. In pretty rough shape it had all the same characteristics as this bike. In part, this is what leads me to believe that these were all custom ordered locally.
