Return to gallery page1937 Caminade Caminargent Pista : French made, unrestored. This bike was found on Long Island, New York. It had been in storage for perhaps 40 years. The owner was given it by a neighbor In Queens, NY as a gift. This neighbor had purchased the bike in the 50's at an estate sale. How it arrived in Queens is a mystery as the original owner is long gone. The bike is almost completely original as found including the bell and the reflector. Those items can be seen in the accompanying scans from the British Brown Brothers catalog dated 1939. This helps date the bike. The saddle was not original nor appropriate to the bike. The saddle and a good polishing are the only changes that have been made.
