This CCM dates to the immediate post war period and was problably cutom built. Its serial number (36329S) is somewhat anomalous in that none of the CCM serial numbers -- from 1921 - 1960 -- end with a letter. Either the letter was placed first, second, or second from last. The compiler of the CCM serial # list, Peter Cridland, of Toronto, believes, as does Larry Strung (another leading CCM collector and authority) that all of its characteristics place it in the post war period of 1946 - 1950, although parts, and even the frame, may be left over from just before the War.
The bike measures 53cm C to T seat tube
58cm C to C top tube
It is green with gold CCM transfers and gold box lining. The frame is totally original. Parts, including Mansfield saddle, GB alloy bars and (GB?) steel stem, Altenburger rims with Schwinn telephone dial hubs, are as the bike was recieved by me. It was sold to me by a Canadian friend who got it from a workmate who told the story that he won the bike in a race in Toronto.
