1957 Elswick Hopper Convincible: British made, Unrestored
With the exception of new tires this was found, as is, hanging from the ceiling of a garage attic in a town in Northern Westchester, N.Y. With the exception of a prototype found in pieces and restored by Peter Brown in England, this is the only complete production bike of its type known to exist. It has double down tubes and seat tubes. A shift lever positioned between the down tubes moves both the rear Benelux derailleur and the front chainwheel to retain chain allighment. Parts include GB bars and stem, Airlite hubs with first generation quick release which came out in 1957 & Dunlopp Special Lightweight steel clincher rims.
